UTOPIA

In 1968, ethologist John B. Calhoun conducted a 2-year study called the “Mouse Utopia Experiment.” He provided four pairs of healthy mice with EVERYTHING they needed to survive in a seemingly perfect environment including unlimited food, water, and ample nesting material.

As the population grew, which doubled rapidly every 55 days plateauing at around 2,000 mice, the social order collapsed. Overcrowding created chronic stress which led to violence, cannibalism, and social withdrawal. Mothers either abandoned their babies or failed to take care of them. Males called “The Beautiful Ones” did nothing but eat and groom all day. And new generations who were born into a world of comfort never learned how to mate, parent, or interact.

Because survival was no longer an issue, the mice lost all sense of purpose and identity.

Despite ideal conditions, the whole colony eventually went extinct.

Like these mice, we currently live in a type of utopia. Not only do we no longer have to hunt for our food, but it is also available to us 24 hours a day. Hot water and cool air are delivered to us with a flick of a switch. Military operations can be successfully executed with combat drones. Modern medicine has increased life expectancy. And the internet has eliminated the need for real human connection.

With all that said, although you might be in this world… do not be of it.

YOU are not put here on this earth to merely exist like these NPCs who live for only hedonism and bullshit. YOU are here to SERVE, to WORK, to BUILD, to CREATE, to EXPERIENCE, to REMEMBER.

The mice in the utopia experiment suffered their tragic fate because they had NO purpose. “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” -Proverbs 29:18.

Purpose is EVERYTHING.

Let the world do what it does, in fact, what the world does is not yo’ business. Do not fear A.I., do not fear World War 3, do not fear the ups and downs of the economy. Follow the God within, stand on purpose, and get this fucking money.

Let’s Go 2 Work.
