The Selfish Man

The one good thing about developing yourself into a wonderful person is that everybody wants to be around you.

The bad thing is that those same people that demand your presence don’t respect your time and often take you for granted.

It seems like every week somebody is inviting me to something and everyday someone is requesting my time. This week I was late writing this article, why? Because instead of pouring into my purpose I was pouring into friends. Now here I am left to still do what I have to do while they go back to their wives and girlfriends. I have no one to blame but… me.

Here’s what I know for a fact.

A selfish man… is a successful man.

Until you can put yourself first. Until you develop the ability to say NO, success will constantly escape you.

I realize now more than ever that it is my responsibility and my responsibility alone to take care of myself.

I wrote a list today of what the current best version of me looks like and I vow to focus on nothing but that. By best version I mean, if you were your best self TODAY, what exactly does he do, where does he go, what has he stopped, what has he started, what does he know. On my list I wrote 15 things and being a man with his “No’s up” was number one. I implore you, if you don’t do anything else today, write your list as well.

Day one…Day won.

Be great outchea.
